CFE 2021 Recap by Edwina Lashan
Edwina LaShan Fashion Blog welcomes the “Chattanooga Fashion Expo” to our city!
Chattanooga Fashion Expo was a great, week-long, event bringing together; fashion, makeup, and style influencers from different backgrounds, all under one roof. We enjoyed the expo for this very reason. It was great to see fashion influencers connect, who may not have otherwise known about each other, had it not been for this event.
What we liked most about the expo was the celebrity panel, who all dropped gems about their experience within the industry. We learned some very helpful advice that we all can apply to our journeys.
It's important to have a platform like the Chattanooga Fashion Expo to bring fashion creatives together from all walks of life. Creatives who are just getting started in the industry to creatives who have established their fashion journey for many years.
We enjoyed all of the looks that crossed the runway, but what we liked MOST was the up-cycle competition. This competition allowed up-and-coming designers to make pieces from everyday items/nontraditional fabrics.
One designer, Tailes Maddox, made a piece for the Artist Competition out of fast-food wrappers and plastic/paper bags. That was super cool and well thought out.
Another designer, Jamie Rogers of Jareux, created a piece for the Designer Competition that transformed a skirt into a handbag! The uniqueness in these pieces simply blew our minds!
Oh, and we could never forget the newspaper dresses by designer, Jimmy Young of Oshads Customs. OMG! We just get excited thinking about it!
There is so much we can say about each designer! They all did an amazing job! Minique Murphy, Juanita Montgomery, LaJeromeny Brown, the list goes on...
Congrats again designers! Keep reaching for the sky. We are rooting for you!
Xoxo!
